Coimbra Group Statement on #Erasmus500

18 May 2020

Founded in 1985, the Coimbra Group is an association of long-established European comprehensive, multidisciplinary universities of high international standard committed to creating special academic and cultural ties in order to promote, for the benefits of its members, internationalisation, academic collaboration, excellence in learning and research, and service to society.

Having inspired and participated to the creation of the Erasmus programme in 1987 by the European Commission, the Coimbra Group advocates for an inclusive and fair Erasmus+ programme: therefore, the Coimbra Group fully supports the #Erasmus500 initiative and calls on the EU Institutions and national policy makers to strengthen the investment in Knowledge: this includes an ambitious Erasmus+ budget.
