Open Education Week 2023: registrations open for the Education Innovation Working Group webinar “Hybrid and Virtual Learning Spaces”

23 February 2023

At the invitation of EDEN Digital Learning Europe, a network for the distance and e-learning professional community, CG Education Innovation Working Group (EDU WG) will host a webinar, “Hybrid and Virtual Learning Spaces,” during the upcoming Open Education Week 2023.

The webinar will build on the work conducted by the Education Innovation Working Group members on innovative learning spaces and presented during the CG High-Level Seminar on Education Policy “From Learning Spaces to Learning Environments” in Uppsala in November 2022. Hybrid and virtual learning spaces are increasingly planned, designed and evaluated for their rich instructional potential, especially in the context of transnational teaching and learning initiatives, but also as an effect of post-pandemic developments in higher education institutions. Nicoleta Laura Popa, Chair of EDU WG, together with François Lecellier, Vice-Chair of the group and Johannes Müller, EDU WG member, will elaborate on this vital topic in an online session “Hybrid and Virtual Learning Spaces,” taking place on Tuesday, 7th March, at 13:00 – 14:30 CET. Registrations for this event are open – please fill out the registration form available here to attend the webinar.

An Open Education Week (OE Week) is an annual celebration that allows for actively sharing and learning about the latest achievements in Open Education worldwide. It celebrated its 10th-anniversary last year.

Open Education Week was launched in 2012 by Open Education Global as a collaborative, community-built open forum. Every year OE Week raises awareness and highlights innovative open education successes worldwide. OE Week allows practitioners, educators, and students to build a greater understanding of open educational practices and be inspired by the work being developed by the community around the world.

In 2023, OE Week is taking place between March 6-10, although some events happen throughout March. Everyone is welcome to participate in OE Week live events and collaborative asynchronous activities, take advantage of the OE Week Library and engage with fellow participants in the OE Global Connect space. The full list of events is available here.
